Story

I'm paid by the families I work for, and by no one else. No commissions, no products, no quotas. Just the plan I'd hand my own mother.

I spent twelve years at a big Manhattan brokerage, paid by commission on whatever I sold. I left in 2011, the week I was asked to push a product I wouldn't have bought for my own family, and opened this office to do it the other way round.

It's a small practice on purpose. I work with 58 families and cap it at 60, so you get my cell number, not a call center. Owen Tilden, my associate planner since 2019, runs the numbers and the paperwork so our meetings can be about the decisions.

What we work out together

Six parts of one plan. Most families need four of them, and nobody pays for the ones they don't.

01

Retirement income

When to stop working, which account to draw from first, and when to claim Social Security, worked out to the month.

02

Investments

A low-cost, globally diversified portfolio at an independent national custodian, in your name. I can see it and trade it; I can never withdraw from it.

03

Taxes

Roth conversions, tax-loss harvesting and charitable giving, coordinated with your CPA every December.

04

Equity and deferred comp

RSUs, options, carried interest and deferred compensation, with a selling schedule your tax bill can live with.

05

Estate and family

Beneficiaries checked, trusts funded, and the one letter your kids will need, reviewed with your attorney.

06

College and insurance

529s for the kids or grandkids, and an honest read of the policies you already own.

How it works

Four steps, then every year after

01

A first conversation

Forty-five minutes, free, at the office or on video. You talk; I mostly ask.

02

Everything on the table

Statements, tax returns, policies and the 401(k) you forgot, uploaded to a secure portal.

03

The plan

Six weeks later we sit down with one page of what to do first, and the forty pages of why.

04

Every year after

Two meetings a year, and a call or a text whenever you need one. Same planner, same number.

15

years fee-only, since 2011

Who I work with

Families at a turn

A business sold, an inheritance, a divorce, a death in the family. The year everything changes at once.

People who work in finance

Fund and private-equity professionals with deferred comp, carried interest and stock that vests on someone else's schedule.

Ten years from retiring

When to stop, what to draw first, and when to claim Social Security, before the decisions make themselves.

Handling it alone

Women managing the money on their own, often for the first time, who want it explained without being talked down to.

Fees, 2026

One fee. In dollars. Written down.

Fee-only means the fee is the only money I ever make from you. It's on one page before we start, and it never hides inside a fund.

In their own words

4.9 from 41 client reviews

“She told us not to buy the annuity we were being sold. That one conversation paid her fee for a decade.”

Tom and Ellen, Old Greenwich

“After my husband died, she was the first person who explained where everything was without making me feel small.”

Margaret, Riverside

“My deferred comp finally has a schedule. I sleep better in February.”

Dev, Cos Cob

Asked first

Anything not here, ask on the first call. It's free, and there's no sales pitch at the end of it, because there's nothing to sell.

What does fee-only mean?

I'm paid only by you: a flat fee or a set percentage, written down before we start. I take no commissions from anyone, ever.

Do you have a minimum?

No. Planning-only clients start at $4,500 for a written plan, and many never move their investments to me at all.

Where is my money held?

At an independent national custodian, in your own name. You get statements from them as well as from me, and I can never withdraw from your accounts.

Do I have to live in Greenwich?

No. Most clients are in Fairfield and Westchester counties; others meet me on video from wherever they live.

How is this different from my broker?

A broker can be paid by the products they recommend. I can't be, so I have no reason to recommend one.

What if something happens to you?

Owen knows every plan, and a written continuity agreement with another independent firm covers the rest.

Let's have a first conversation
